Even though it wasn’t as horrible as the 8 – 2 annihilation we had at Old Trafford earlier in the season, losing today 1 – 2 to Manchester United was even more enraging on my eyes. Like the previous Man U game we had, Arsenal did not had any true quality full-backs. Djourou is a center-back and not a true left-back, this clearly showed when Nani just completely abuse Djourou over the the left flank. Yet, at the end-of-match commentary, Wenger said that Djourou had a minor hamstring injury that’s why he took him off the game. This is absolute bull shit, the reason why Wenger took Djourou off was becuase he was defending like a streaming pile of shit, yet Wenger doesn’t want to admit it (in the process inventing an injury to Djourou). The reason why he doesn’t want to admit it is because Arsenal’s back line for the most part is shit, and Wenger has done absolute nothing on enforcing the defense on the January transfer window. But what got me really angered was Arshavin’s substitution for Oxlade-Chamberlain. I’m not a tactical genius but everyone in the game knew that was an atrocious change.

Now, 5 points behind the fourth spot. I see Arsenal going out at the round of sixteen at the Champions League and finishing 6th or 7th. By the end of this season, it’s going to be 7 years and no trophies, while it hurts me to say, Arsene Wenger NEEDS TO GO.

It’s been about 3 months since I purchased and upgraded rubyninja to the lasted Apple Mac Mini, and I must say my new mid 2010 Mac Mini computer completely blows away my previous 1.6 GHz Core Duo 2006 Mac Mini model. With a 2.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i5, this is by far my most powerful computer. Upgrading the memory from the factory 2GB to 8GB of RAM (Crucial) also helped increase performance. Immediatly after getting my new Mac Mini online, I downloaded VirtualBox and restored my previous state of rubyninja.net to a CentOS VirtualBox instance, in addition of installing new instances of CentOS, RHEL, Debian, Ubuntu, FreeBSD and Windows Server 2003.

At less than $700.00 (including the 8GB RAM upgrade), I think a Mac Mini is a really good investment for anyone wanting to have a reliable computer that you want to have function as a hypervisor for testing or development. The only downside to the Mac Mini is Mac OS X Lion it self. I’ve read plenty of horror stories on how Lion is Apple’s equivalent of Windows Vista, but man; though when using the Mac Mini, 99% of the time I’m using the Linux/Unix VirtualBox instances. The other 1% percent of the time I’m using Lion, is through the built-in VNC server that Lion ships with, and I have to say it is an absolute pile of shit or nicer words, it is simply broken (which is an known issue). Thus said, at least on the hardware side of things, having used Apple Mac Mini computers as servers for almost 8 years now, I’m expecting my new computer to be rock solid for plenty years to come.

My first impression was of how amazingly small the new Roku 2 XD device is. With a new Rosewill HDMI cable that I purchased from Newegg, I was eager to see how the 1080p Roku video content looked on my Vizio TV.

In terms of the video quality, I compared the built-in Netflix app on the Roku with the Netflix internet app that runs natively on my Vizio TV, and the Netflix internet TV app on the Vizio had a better picture quality. This was also the same with the Revision 3 HD video content on both sources. However, the Roku interface has a far better and less counter intuitive user interface, than the Vizio internet TV control interface. Roku did an awesome job on the UI design, as I didn’t had a problem using the interface and everything is really straight forward.

I have to say that I am slightly disappointed with the Roku device, though it’s not necessarily the device’s fault. This is given that I hardly watch any TV at all. While the Roku platform has hands down the most content available than any other set top box of its kind, after the first few days, I hardly use the device because all of my IPTV content that I watch is available via the Vizio internet TV apps.

The Roku device is perfect for anyone that doesn’t have cable/satellite service or for anyone that doesn’t own an internet ready TV. There are lots of free channels, including movie channels. If only the Premier League had a subscription service that would stream all games live in HD on the Roku, then I would definitely see the Roku as the greatest thing since slice bread.
